External Hard Drive Exclosure to the rescue!
Due to my laptop kicking the bucket, I purchased an external enclosure for the hard drive from the laptop.
Inserted the Hard Drive into the enclosure, plugged it into the PC, and Viola! All my files accessible instantly!
Now I should be able to hold out until Apple update their MacBook Pro laptops later this month, or at the start of September.
