Sammy Has Been Found!!

Monday, September 25th, 2006

We have our precious Sam back in the caring protection of Willy & Gemma.

Sam had been found the day he disappeared, only one street away from Willy & Gemma’s house, by a Dude that seems to like his Pot. After holding him hostage until the Reward Cash was handed over, he finally gave Sam back, and no doubt went to spend the reward money on copious amounts of weeeed….maaaaaaan!

Anyway - we have Sammy back! We are so bloody happy!

Thanks once again to everybody that helped with finding Sammy. We really appreciate your efforts.

No News On Sam

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Unfortunately, we are yet to hear any news on our lost dog, Sam.

I’d like to thank everybody who has been tirelessly trying to find Sam. We have had posters put up almost everywhere in Geelong. The pound has been visited numerous times. The phones of Geelong Vet Clinics have been running hot. The Geelong Police, and numerous Girl Guides, and Boy Scout groups have also been deployed for the cause!

A special thanks for Willy, Peter, Pat, Wendy, Emily and Claire for their wonderful help.

All our fingers and toes are crossed in the hope that we find Sam soon.

Sam Is Missing!

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

One of our precious puppies, Sam, is missing!

He went missing from 6 Bromley Street, Thomson - right near the Geelong Showgrounds, sometime on Monday 18th September 2006.

He is a VERY Friendly Male Yellow Labrador, and has been desexed. He is NOT wearing a collar, as that came off when he disappeared. He is MicroChipped, with the following number: 981000300038496
His twin brother Louis is missing him terribly!

We will give $700 to the person who brings him back! If you have seen him, or have any information about where he may be, please call our very good friend Will, on 0410 532 840.

Here is a poster that we would REALLY appreciate if you could print out some copies, and stick up in shop windows, cafe’s, etc.

Helmet-Wearing Cyclists More Likely To Be Knocked Down

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

Dr Ian Walker, who studies traffic psychology at the University of Bath in the U.K., has just released a fascinating new study that shows that if you wear a helmet overtaking cars pass by you more closely than if you’re not wearing a helmet. “The perception is that those wearing helmets are experienced and more predictable.”

What a load of bollocks! Whether a vehicle is 7 inches or 9 inches away from me as a cyclist doesn’t mean a thing - if the damn thing hits me (at any speed) I want a helmet on! They have saved me, and many others around the world - I am sticking with a helmet!

Bling Bling Makes The Wheels Spin!

Friday, September 1st, 2006

Bling Bling!!As I mentioned in a previous post, I have a just purchased snazzy new pair of cycling shoes. They are The Sidi Ergo 2 - a new version of the Ergo 1. These are to replace my old trusty pair of Carnac Quartz. These new puppies are not yet released, and I have managed to get my hands (or feet, more to the point) on them about 2 months before they hit the stores here in Europe. How did I manage that? Well….

Carbon SoleI went to a top bike store here in London (Condor Cycles) and tried on a pair of DMT Flash - they didn’t fit as well as I would have hoped, so I tried on the Sidi Ergo 1 - perfect! The problem was, the only colour they had in my size was crap! So I began to call around to find what I was after - no joy. I decided it would save me time if I was to call the UK distributor directly, for a suggestion of where to go. This guy told me that he had three pairs of the NEW, upgraded model, in size 42 - MY SIZE! These are models that Sidi Ergo 2are being shown to bike stores pre-release. They have a FULL Carbon Sole instead of a few carbon sections in the current soles. Gimmee the white pair! So he got them sent to Condor Cycles the next day!

I’m heading out in the morning for my first ride in London - out to Richmond Park, around a few times, and home. Stay tuned for the report!
